I seem to recall that JMS did not intend for the crew to seem to recognize Anna when she was boarding, but the director did not know and added that bit. It doesn't quite fit, though it can be handwaved as they recognized the name.

Nice! Arcane has become one of my favourite shows next to Babylon 5, glad you're checking it out. Few shows stand up to B5 in my opinion when it comes to rewarding attention to detail, epic cast and almost everything having meaning beyond the moment that comes back later but Arcane actually did it, maybe even better and so efficient with only 9 episodes.

Season 1 is alright. Just like Babylon 5 it is trying to find its footing. It has quite a few meh episodes, just like season 1 Babylon 5 does. But unlike B5, SG1 isn't trying to tell a difficult story (YET). So the first season is relatively safe and easy. But no one can deny there's a lot of amazing episodes in season 1. But compared to the rest of the show there's quite a lot of great standalone or possible build up and arc episodes.

Tolen and Maybourne. Pretty important characters got introduced to us in this episode. Damn good episode too.

Notice how when the Nox opened the stargate, it didn't have the typical unstable expansion, they call the 'woosh'....

Season 1 is enjoyable...but nothing compared to what it becomes in a couple seasons. I love your excitement for this show!

The whole NPR Tiny Desk Concert is great. Girl has talent for days. You should watch her interview with Alanis Morissette, it's really revealing about how they both approach their music in a very raw, journaling kind of way. She never ceases to amaze me how deliberate her vocals are in the different techniques she puts in to get the sound she wants (and it shows all her many, many, musical influences like Paramore and Alanis and Avril Lavigne). As a lyricist she really manages to nail the expression of what she is trying to say in a way that feels real. As a vocalist/musician - I love what she does, but I can't help but wonder/can't wait to see what we will see from her as she matures and her own personal style continues to grow.

Plenty of makers of this show are Fallout game fans.. Nolan played a lot of Fallout 3 and it does show. A lot of props/design is more on line with newer Fallout4 + 76. Fallout games have 'Bloody Mess' perk and Ghould definitely has taken it.

I agree, the ghoul by far is my favorite character as well.

Seeing Michael Emerson with a Belgian Malinois again brought back so many happy memories from Person of Interest! His first monologue to Lucy gave me the chills. I could listen to his monologues over and over. This series is just awesome and as a fan of the games it totally hits the right vibe and the humour is there without falling into slapstick. Great reaction!

I know there are plenty of production reasons why this episode exists, but I think the placement is perfect. After an episode full of “the more things change, the more they stay the same,” this one assures us that the actions of our characters DO matter and they DO have a positive ripple effect on the universe. I think it’s not just a great B5 story but a brilliant piece of science fiction.

Piltover and Zaun were originally two tribes that broke off from a singular tribe that both worshipped the wind spirit Janna. The Southern tribe called Oshra`Va Zaun was the poorer tribe that settled the Southern half of the city which bordered mining colonies and fissures in Valoran and Shurima which are similar to New York and Egypt in our world. The Northern tribe(Kha`zhun)united with merchant clans from Noxus and Ionia to strike it rich and founded the Council of Piltover and the Chem-Barons of Zaun through the Sun Gates on the Shuriman border.Over time, Zaun`s mines fell into disrepair and the lower half fell into Piltover`s sewage lanes and all of the upper city`s undesirables(The poor, criminals, mages, Yordles, mad scientists, terrorists, street punks etc.) were exiled there, leaving it a crime-ridden, polluted, impoverished wasteland.

Well, you are right that Viktor ends up evil in the lore but one of the points of "Arcane" is life is rarely so black and white, even the worst sociopaths always started off as innocent children until something went horribly wrong in their lives that set them down a wrong path.

Some of the lore behind magic and the stigma it has on Runeterra(The world "League of Legends", "Legends of Runeterra" and "Arcane" are set on. Magic used to be everywhere and a lot of mages went power-hungry and crazy and created demons called Darkins that were sealed inside their own weapons but some of them possessed human vessels, creating the first serial killers in the universe of Runeterra. This led to a conflict called the Rune Wars and magic was banned in Demacia(The equivalent of Elizabethan era England in this world), parts of Piltover(The wealthy upper city similar to England, Paris and the US in the Industrial Revolution era)and Ionia(Which is based on feudal Japan) .In this universe, LGBTQ folks and people of color are accepted but mages and Yordles are a different story.
